Batting Blitz Sets the Tone
Opting to bat first, the Dehradun Warriors came out with intent and aggression. Skipper Yuvraj Chaudhary led from the front with a fiery knock of 52 runs off just 27 balls, peppered with four fours and four sixes. His aggressive strokeplay set the platform early, putting the Rishikesh bowlers under immediate pressure.
Following his lead, Sanskar Rawat continued his dream run in the tournament. The right-hander showcased both elegance and power as he carved out a masterful 71 off 41 deliveries, striking nine boundaries and clearing the ropes thrice. Sanskar, who had notched a century in the previous match, once again proved to be the linchpin of Dehradun’s batting.
Adding to the carnage, Anjaneya Suryavanshi chipped in with a handy 35 off 25 balls, ensuring the momentum never dipped. Dehradun eventually posted a formidable total of 216/4 in 20 overs, giving their bowlers a massive cushion to defend.
Rishikesh Falcons Falter Under Pressure
In response, Rishikesh Falcons never got going. Chasing a steep target of 217, their innings unraveled quickly under the disciplined bowling attack of the Warriors. Wickets fell at regular intervals, and not a single batsman could anchor the innings or build a meaningful partnership.
Purvansh Malik top-scored with a gritty 29 off 21 balls, and Abhay Negi added 23 from 19 deliveries, but the rest of the batting lineup crumbled. The Falcons were eventually bundled out for 123 in 18.1 overs, falling well short of the target.
All-Round Brilliance from Yuvraj and Naveen
Dehradun’s bowling was as sharp as their batting. Naveen Kumar Singh emerged as the pick of the bowlers, claiming 3 wickets, while Yuvraj Chaudhary rounded off a superb all-round display with 2 wickets in his four-over spell. The Warriors’ bowlers maintained relentless pressure, mixing variations and attacking lengths to dismantle the Rishikesh batting.
Looking Ahead
With this emphatic win, the Dehradun Warriors continue to solidify their position as one of the top contenders in the Uttarakhand Premier League 2025. Yuvraj Chaudhary and Sanskar Rawat’s consistent run-scoring has become the backbone of the side, and the balance between explosive batting and disciplined bowling is proving to be a winning formula.
For the Rishikesh Falcons, it’s back to the drawing board. Their inability to string together strong batting performances remains a concern, and they’ll need to regroup quickly if they are to bounce back in the tournament.
