New Delhi: United Arab Emirates (UEA) batter Asif Khan scripted history against Nepal as he played the superb knock of 101* off just 42 balls on Thursday (March 16) at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Nepal.
Asif Khan: Fourth fastest batter to score hundred in ODI
Asif Khan, now became the fastest batter to score century from associate nation, and 4th highest in the history of international cricket. With this knock, Asif has left behind the likes of Mark Boucher (44 balls), Brian Lara (45 balls), Jos Buttler (46 balls) and Virat Kohli (52 balls).
The right-hand-batter played at the strike rate of of over 240 and smashed 11 sixes and four boundaries.
Aravind, Asif 135 runs stand
Vriitya Aravind and Asif Khan stitched the partnership of 135-runs and posted the target of 310/6 on scoreboard.

UAE performance against Nepal
After winning the toss, UAE’s skipper Muhammad Waseem decided to bat first. UAE started well despite early loss of Aryan Larka. Vriitya Aravind accompanied Waseem, though the latter was brought lbw by Sandeep Lamichhane, the leg-spinner’s 99th ODI wicket.

The wicket turned proceedings back in the hosts’ favour, and a calamitous piece of running from CP Rizwan (7) ended in an easy run out.
Asif Khan joined the party alongside Aravind and took on the Nepal’s bowlers. The right-hander spared no one, Khan smashed four back-to-back sixes off Lamichhane in an over. He struck as many as 11 sixes in his outstanding knock of 101* off just 42 balls.
