Wicketkeeper batter Ashiqur Rahman Shibli continued his brilliant run with his 2nd century in the fifth match as Bangladesh cruised to the Under-19 Asia Cup title in Dubai on December 17 after a dominating 195-run against UAE in the final.
After opening the batting, Ashiqur hit 12 fours and one six in his 129 (149 balls) as Bangladesh set UAE a 283-run target.
In reply, UAE saw themselves struggling to get any sort of momentum into their chase with Dhruv Parashar finishing the game as his team’s top scorers with an unbeaten 25.

Opener Akshat Rai finished with 11 runs as all other batters failed to even reach the double digits for UAE.
Brilliant Campaign for Bangladesh
Bangladesh had a tournament to remember with the Bangla Tigers beating India on their way to the finals. While everyone was expecting a classic India vs Pakistan fixture in the final showdown, both the sides lost their respective semi-final clashes which eventually set up a Bangladesh vs UAE final.
While India lost to Bangladesh by 6 wickets in the semis, their arch-rivals Pakistan were handed a shock defeat to UAE by 11 runs.
With next year’s U19 World Cup shifting to South Africa, the Indian team needs to go back to the drawing board and be back with a bang in next year’s quadrennial event.
India have won the U19 World Cup the most number of time (5).
