India were able to make a place in the final of the U19 Asia Cup 2024 being played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The Indian team defeated Sri Lanka by seven wickets while chasing down 174 runs. Indian batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi played an innings of 67 runs from 36 balls and emerged as the Player of the Match. Suryavanshi smashed six fours and five sixes during his stay at the crease. Team India will now face Bangladesh in the tournament final set to be played on December 8 (Sunday).

Team India Qualify For U19 Asia Cup 2024 Final
Bowling first, the Indian team wrapped up Sri Lanka for 173 runs. Indian bowler Chetan Sharma became the most successful Indian bowler and picked up a three-wicket haul. He was followed by a two-fers from Kiran Chormale and Ayush Mhatre. Lakvin Abeysinghe ended up being the most successful Indian batter and played an innings of 69 runs from 110 balls. Sharujan Shanmuganathan played a knock of 42 runs from 78 balls, which helped the Sri Lankan team reach a respectable total.

Chasing down the target, the Indian team started off well wherein, Ayush Mhatre and Vaibhav Suryavanshi added 91 runs for the first wicket. Mhatre played a knock of 34 runs from 28 balls. While the Indian team lost the first wicket, Suryavanshi continued his attack and registered yet another half-century in the tournament. At the end, Team India won the match by seven wickets and qualified for the final of U19 Asia Cup 2024.
