Bangladesh have made it to the final of the U19 Asia Cup final after beating India by 4 wickets in what was a low scoring encounter in Dubai.
Put in to bat first, India got off to the worst possible start with openers Adarsh Singh and Arshin Kulkarni being sent back to the pavilion on a collective total of just 3 runs.
Constant pressure from the Bangladesh bowlers saw India struggle at 61/6 at 15.5 overs.
However, Musheer Khan (50) and Murugan Abhishek (62) helped India get some sort of momentum back into the innings which eventually steered the side to 188 runs in the end.
In reply, Indian bowlers didn’t give any space to the openers and got their first breakthrough courtesy of right arm Medium bowler Raj Limbani who sent Jishan Alam for a duck in the first over.
The Bangla Tigers too saw themselves struggle at 34/3 within 10 overs but Ariful Islam (94) and Ahrar Amin (44) put up a 138-run partnership to get the team back into the game.
The duo changed the course of the game in their favour and ended up booking a place in the final with a 4-wicket victory.
India had finished second in the group stage behind rivals Pakistan and the fans had expected a India vs Pakistan final on Sunday. However, destiny had other plans as both sides failed to make it to the final as Pakistan too, were handed a shocking 11-run defeat against the U-19 UAE team.
Bangladesh will now face UAE in the final showdown on December 17.
