Trouble Increases For RCB! FIR Lodged Against RCB, Karnataka Cricket Association And Others

There were 11 deaths and 33 injuries during the stampede that took place outside Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru following RCB’s victory in IPL 2025. This case has resulted in an FIR being lodged at the Cubbon Park police station. At the request of a citizen, a case was registered against Virat Kohli’s RCB, DNA (event manager), KSCA Administrative Committee, and several others at the police station. Parts of Sections 105, 125 (1)(2), 132, 121/1, and 190 R/w 3 (5) have been tacked on to the FIR.

High Court Sought Report from State Government

The court took the matter up on its own and requested the state government to give a detailed report. Information from the government regarding the incident’s causes, safety measures and what actions have already been taken has been requested by the court. The court gave a directive to the state government to file a comprehensive report by June 10.

RCB’s ex gratia of Rs 10 lakh

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) said it will offer Rs 10 lakh to the families of the people who lost their lives . Besides this, RCB has created a fund called ‘RCB Cares’ that helps injured fans after this incident. RCB said in its official statement, “The unfortunate incident that happened in Bengaluru yesterday has caused great pain to the RCB family. As a symbol of respect and solidarity, RCB has announced financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the 11 families of the deceased.”

Deputy CM Sympathises

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar became emotional and cried while addressing the media on Thursday over the incident. He expressed deep grief over the tragic incident, which left 11 people dead and 33 injured. Shivakumar said, “This should not have happened, we did not expect such a huge crowd… The stadium had a capacity of 35,000, but more than 3 lakh people were there… We apologise for the incident.”
