John Cena Defeats R-Truth At Saturday Night’s Main Event
Earlier in the episode, John Cena had also wrestled R-Truth in a non-title singles match. Cena won with dirty tricks—distracting the referee with his title belt and hitting R-Truth with a low blow, something that R-Truth was unable to counter in time. Cena then collected the pinfall win.
But he wasn’t finished yet—after making his way backstage, Cena came back to the ring and assaulted R-Truth with the belt of championship, leaving everyone stunned. This was Cena’s first match against Truth since 2011, and it concluded with Cena firmly within his heel character.
