Tottenham indicated that the board voted unanimously to sack Ange Postecoglou since they did not want to act out of a desire to win the Europa League. Postecoglou was told on Friday evening that he had been let go as head coach and Thomas Frank is now being strongly considered as a replacement.
Why Was Ange Postecoglou Sacked From Tottenham
The reason for the decision is mainly because the club faced more losses than ever before and ended up in 17th place in the Premier League. It happens although Postecoglou won Spurs their first major trophy in 17 years by leading them to victory in the Europa League in Bilbao not long ago. The trophy achieved after a hard-fought 1-0 match against United over Manchester United gave Spurs a place in the Champions League next season, yet Postecoglou was informed he would not keep his job in charge.

Tottenham’s Statement About Sacking Ange Postecoglou
“Following a review of performances and after significant reflection, the Club can announce that Ange Postecoglou has been relieved of his duties.”
“However, the Board has unanimously concluded that it is in the best interests of the Club for a change to take place. Following a positive start in the 2023/24 Premier League (PL) season, we recorded 78 points from the last 66 PL games.
“This culminated in our worst-ever PL finish last season. At times there were extenuating circumstances — injuries and then a decision to prioritise our European campaign. Whilst winning the Europa League this season ranks as one of the Club’s greatest moments, we cannot base our decision on emotions aligned to this triumph.”
