Harry Kane stint at Tottenham
Bayern hinted last month that Kane would like to move and said he was confident of completing the transfer. Kane wants to decide his future ahead of Tottenham’s opening game against Brentford on Sunday, but has yet to agree his personal terms. The 30-year-old spent his entire career with the Spurs and was Spurs’ all-time leading scorer, but was frustrated that he didn’t win a trophy.
Bayern Munich performance in Europe
Bayern have won the Bundesliga eleven times in a row and have always been competitive in the Champions League. They have also won the European Cup six times, most recently in 2020. Kane has just one year left on his contract, but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy turned down an £86m payout from Bayern before accepting Bayern’s latest offer.
Bayern had made a last-minute offer of £86m, but came back and signed a deal that broke the record €80m paid to Atlético Madrid’s Lucas Hernández in 2019.
What Tottenham Hotspurs manager said
“know there is a deadline and that is the end of the transfer window. Furthermore, I have regular and frank dialogue with Harry and the club. I ask them to let me know if the situation changes. Said I don’t need to know the back and forth, regardless of the outcome, I’m building a team here and I just want to deal with what’s in front of me. I can’t wait for the decision to be made,” Spurs coach Ange Postecoglou said earlier this month.
