New Role As A Skipper: Tilak Varma has been named as the team’s captain for the Men’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup that is scheduled to take place in Oman from October 18. It is a full-fledged change, as the Asia Cup is to be played in the T20 format for the first time, which witnessed five earlier editions in the 50-over format.

Varma has played four ODIs and 16 T20Is for India and will lead a side that has extensive international experience. It includes two youngsters, Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Chahar, in its ranks, and they add depth and skill to the side.
