Though Shardul Thakur is currently out of Team India, he is performing explosive batting in Ranji right now. His batting makes him look like a proper batsman. Earlier too, when Mumbai faced Jammu & Kashmir in the Ranji Trophy, he scored a half-century in the first innings followed by a century. Now in an important match against Meghalaya, he has strengthened his team by smashing an explosive fifty.

Shardul Thakur found no buyers in IPL auction
Currently out of the Indian team, Shardul Thakur faced a major setback when no one bid for him in the IPL auction. However, after that, when he played Ranji matches for his team, he has been displaying remarkable batting. In the match against Jammu & Kashmir, Shardul Thakur scored 51 in the first innings and 119 in the second innings. He tried his best to save the match for his team, although it couldn’t happen. After that, now against Meghalaya, he completed his fifty in just 30 balls. Shardul Thakur continued batting after completing his fifty, but before he could get close to a century, he got out. However, before that, he played a powerful innings of 84 runs off 42 balls. He hit nine fours and 5 sixes.

Shardul hasn’t been seen in Team India jersey for a long time
Shardul played his last Test match for Team India in 2023, and since then, quite some time has passed, but he hasn’t been able to make a comeback to the Indian team. The situation has been similar in ODIs and T20s. He did get injured in between, but now he is completely fit, yet he was neither selected for the T20 series against England nor could his name make it to the Champions Trophy squad. Not only this, but earlier when the IPL 2025 auction happened and his name was called, no one tried to bid for him. After this, now the way he is showing powerful play, he could at least join some IPL team as a replacement player.
