The Indian Premier League 2025 mega auction was a huge success after more than INR 600 crores were spent by all the ten teams to strengthen their squads. Many players became reason of bid war between two teams and one of them was Deepak Chahar. The right-handed Indian pacer was an integral part of the Chennai Super Kings squad, however, the latter was picked up for a price of INR 9.25 crores by the Mumbai Indians and prove to be pillar for their pace attack. However, CSK and MS Dhoni have played a major role behind the grooming of Deepak Chahar.

Deepak Chahar Opens Up On Missing Out From CSK
The latter is majorly known for his swing bowling and the ability to take up wickets in the early overs, doesn’t have any hard feelings from CSK, who weren’t able to add him back to their squad. Speaking to Sports Tak, Chahar revealed that CSK had pretty less purse and during the same they went until INR 9 crores, which was very appreciative. He said, “Mahi bhai has supported me from the start, that’s why I wanted to go to CSK. But my name came on the second day at the auction, so I had a fair idea that it would be difficult for me to get back to CSK. They had a low purse, but still bid till INR 9 crore despite a purse of INR 13 crore.”
The bowling has been a major struggle point for the Mumbai Indians in the past editions of the Indian Premier League. The departure of Trent Boult has affected the franchise which has brought all the pressure on Jasprit Bumrah. This has resulted in the fall of the franchise in the IPL during the past editions of the tournament wherein they have always ended up at the bottom of the points table. However, Deepak Chahar and Trent Boult’s inclusion into the side has certainly strengthen their pace attack.
