After losing 2 early wickets, young RCB skipper Rajat Patidar came onto the crease and made a significant contribution with bat by scoring 51 runs. But it seemed that Patidar had brought himself some luck in the bag as he was dropped 3 times before reaching a potential half century against the Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk today. 2 of his drops came in just 12th over bowled by Noor Ahmed who late went on to claim the Purple Cap for himself
Drop 1: Hooda’s Sitter at Long-Off
A vital lifeline emerged after Hooda made an unforgivable error in the field during his attempt at fielding. When Jadeja had him hit a lofted drive it took a curious path towards the long-off position. The positioning of Hooda was perfect since it provided him time to read and grab the easy catch. A complete mistake occurred when he allowed a simple delivery to escape from his grasp in a moment of unexplainable misstep.

Drop 2: Tripathi’s Valiant Attempt
The second opportunity to strike a bat emerged moments later during bowling by N. Ahmad. Tripathi jumped into a wild diving position after Patidar’s edge travelled outside the boundary. The fielder deserves recognition for his remarkable effort because he extended his body completely while using both hands to snatch the catch. A harsh turn of events released the ball when Tripathi’s body made contact with the ground. Tripathi put in notable work yet it resulted in Patidar obtaining another let-off.

Drop 3: Khaleel’s Hesitation
Khaleel faced the most perplexing drop moment of the game by hesitating at just the wrong time. The delivery from Noor Ahmad generated an outside edge of the bat which left Khaleel uncertain about diving for the catch before finally collecting it. The poor judgment of the attempt caused him to fumble the ball when trying for a low catch after hesitating too long.
