The India national cricket team was able to achieve a memorable win in the IND vs AUS 1st Test played at the Optus Stadium in Perth. The Indian team routed the mighty Aussies by a margin of 295 runs while defending a total of 534 runs in the second innings. Indian captain Jasprit Bumrah, Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal proved out to be the heroes for the Indian team and helped them create history in Perth. This was the first time, Team India won a Test match in Perth after 2008. The visitors have now taken a 1-0 lead in the five-match series and would look forward to continue the same momentum further. Records Galore As Team India Create History In Perth
- Team India managed their biggest margin of win in Test match on the Australian soil beating their previous best of 222 runs back in 1977 at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
- The Indian team achieved their third largest overall Test win (by margin of runs). Team India’s 318-run victory against West Indies in 2019 remains on the top followed by 304-run victory against Sri Lanka back in 2017.
- Team India became the first-ever team to beat Australia at the Optus Stadium in Perth. Before the IND vs AUS 1st Test, the Aussies had played four Tests at the newly built Optus Stadium and had won all of them.
- Jasprit Bumrah and Co became the fourth team to win 10 or more Tests in Australia after England, West Indies and South Africa.
- Jasprit Bumrah became the seventh Indian skipper to win a Test match in Australia after Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli, Sunil Gavaskar, Bishan Singh Bedi, Sourav Ganguly and Anil Kumble.
- After Anil Kumble, Jasprit Bumrah became only the second Indian skipper to win a Test match in Perth.
- Jasprit Bumrah equalled Kapil Dev’s record of taking eight or more wickets during a Test match in Australia.

Team India needs to defeat Australia by at least 4-0 if they wish to qualify for the final of the World Test Championship. The Indian team has qualified for the finals in the previous two editions of the world’s largest cricket tournament of Test cricket.
