- India: With four points and a net run rate of +2.425, India is in a strong position. A win against Australia in their final match will secure their top spot and a semi-final berth. However, a loss could allow Australia or Afghanistan to overtake them if Afghanistan wins against Bangladesh.
- Australia: With two points and a net run rate of +0.223, Australia is in a precarious position after a surprising loss to Afghanistan. A win against India will likely qualify them for the semi-finals, but a loss may let Afghanistan or Bangladesh take their place.
- Afghanistan: Also with two points but a net run rate of -0.650, Afghanistan is still in the race. A win against Bangladesh could see them through, especially if India defeats Australia earlier in the day, making their path easier.
- Bangladesh: With zero points and a net run rate of -2.489, Bangladesh still has a chance thanks to Afghanistan’s victory over Australia. They need to win against Afghanistan and hope India defeats Australia to improve their net run rate enough to surpass their rivals and Australia.
Super 8 Group 2:
- South Africa: With four points and a net run rate of +0.625, South Africa is in a favorable position. Remaining undefeated, they face a crucial match against the West Indies. A win will ensure they top their group and secure a semi-final spot. However, a loss could jeopardize their chances.
- West Indies: With two points and a net run rate of +1.814, the West Indies control their fate. Defeating South Africa will send them to the semi-finals. A loss would make them rely on the USA defeating England and maintaining a superior net run rate.
- England: With two points and a net run rate of +0.412, England needs a victory against the USA to secure a semi-final spot. A narrow win coupled with a close West Indies victory could see them miss the semi-finals based on net run rate.
- USA: With zero points and a net run rate of -2.908, the USA requires a near-miraculous series of outcomes to qualify. They must defeat England decisively and hope South Africa wins heavily against the West Indies to surpass both teams’ net run rates.
