New Delhi: Recently, BCCI announced the 15-members squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup and it did not include the name of star pacer Mohammad Shami. His absence created a debate among fans and experts about the choice of the Indian team.

However, in the recent development of the matter, it has been revealed that Shami is still in the race of getting included in the World Cup team.

Plan to take Mohammad Shami in – BCCI Official

A BCCI official said that a player cannot be included in the T20 World Cup squad directly if he has not played any T20 International match for 10 months. There is a plan to make Shami a part of the 15-member team and that’s why he has been selected in the team for the T20 series against Australia and South Africa. If he does well in both the series, then he will be seen bowling in the World Cup.

Shami can trouble batters in Australian conditions

There is no express bowler in the World Cup team. In Australia’s condition, the fast bowler gets extra bounce off the pitch. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Axar Patel believe in swinging the ball. Barring Jasprit Bumrah, there is no other bowler who can bowl at a speed of more than 140. Shami can trouble the batsmen with his speed and bounce.

The BCCI official said that all the teams have to send the list of their respective teams by October 10. Teams have the right to make changes to their chosen team. In such a situation, Shami’s place is made.
