Fans can watch the schedule for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 live at 7 PM on the Star Sports Network and on JioHotstar.
With the tournament now less than three months away, India have 10 T20Is left to fine-tune their playing XI. Once the ODI series against South Africa wraps up on December 6, the team will jump straight into a five-match T20I series against the same opponents starting December 9.
After that, India will take on New Zealand in another five-match T20I series beginning January 21.
With the official announcement set for 6:30 PM IST, the countdown is almost over. Fans are eagerly waiting to see who defending champions India will face in the group stage.
Once the full schedule is out, the tournament brackets will also become clear opening up all kinds of possibilities for major clashes, whether early in the group phase or later in the knockout rounds.
In T20 World Cups, Pakistan trail significantly behind India in their head-to-head record.
The two rivals have faced each other eight times in the tournament’s history, most recently in the 2024 edition, where India defended a low total and won by six runs after being bowled out for just 119 in 19 overs.
Overall, India lead the World Cup rivalry 7-1, with Pakistan’s only victory coming in 2021, when they won by 10 wickets in the Super 12 stage.
Their recent clashes in the 2025 Asia Cup also went India’s way, with Rohit Sharma’s side completing a 3-0 clean sweep winning in the group stage, the Super Fours, and then again in the final.
India will aim to ease the burden of being defending champions when they host the 2026 T20 World Cup.
It’s a rare position for the men’s team, the last time India entered a home World Cup as title holders was back in 1987, when Kapil Dev’s side tried to defend their ODI crown but fell short in the semi-finals.
With Sri Lanka co-hosting this edition, the challenge for Rohit Sharma and his team will be to avoid the well-known “champions’ curse” that has troubled so many sides across sports.
India and Pakistan are set to face off in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup next year on February 15 in Colombo, according to the tournament schedule that the International Cricket Council (ICC) will officially announce in Mumbai on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.
The build-up to the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup begins in full swing today as the ICC prepares to unveil the complete tournament schedule. Star names including Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Angelo Mathews and Harmanpreet Kaur will be present for the announcement, which will lock in the dates and venues for the 20-team event set to run from early February to early March across India and Sri Lanka.
