The ongoing T20 World Cup has seen limited excitement in the West Indies and USA, partly due to the high cost of tickets, resulting in sparsely filled stadiums. Despite this, India’s head coach Rahul Dravid remains optimistic about fan turnout for their group stage matches. India will play three of their four group games in New York against Ireland, Pakistan, and USA, while their final group game against Canada will be held in Florida.
Rahul Dravid expressed his enthusiasm about the T20 World Cup being hosted in a new country and new locations. He noted that cricket isn’t a major sport in the hosting country, which has affected the overall buzz surrounding the tournament. Dravid expressed hope that Indian fans would bring their excitement and support during India’s group stage matches in New York and Florida.
Since arriving in New York, the Indian players have been training at Cantiague Park, situated in Hicksville. Dravid acknowledged that training in a public park has been somewhat unusual, but emphasized that the experience of training at Cantiague Park has been enjoyable for the team.

Dravid explained that while practicing in a public park like Cantiague Park has been a bit unusual compared to practicing in cricket stadiums during other events, it hasn’t changed the way they approach practice or their professionalism. Despite the differences, he emphasized that training at the park has been enjoyable and a new and exciting experience for the team.
India will kick off its Men’s T20 World Cup campaign against Ireland at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium on June 5. The 2007 champions prepared for this match with a convincing 60-run victory over Bangladesh at the same venue on June 1.
India has three opening options in captain Rohit Sharma, young Yashasvi Jaiswal, and talismanic Virat Kohli. The selection of the opening pair has been a topic of intense discussion in cricketing circles.
