Team India started off their Super 8 stage with a comfortable 47-run win against Afghanistan at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on June 20. The bowling lineup produced the goods yet again for the Men in Blue as they successfully defended 182 on the night. However, what caught the fan’s eyes was the lackluster performance of certain players with the bat.

Suryakumar Yadav Rescues Team India
If it wasn’t for Suryakumar Yadav’s brilliant fifty along with Hardik Pandya supportive knock of 32 runs, Team India would have found themselves in a difficult situation in order to post a healthy total on the board.
Openers Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli haven’t really given the Indian cricket team a good start in their innings in the 4 matches so far. While Rohit Sharma has only one 50+ score in the tournament so far, Indian star batter Virat Kohli still hasn’t been able to hit the ground running with his highest score of the T20 World Cup 2024, a run-a-ball 24 coming against Afghanistan on Thursday.
Rohit Sharma To Look At Changes Ahead Of IND vs BAN?
Ahead of the team’s second Super 8 match against Bangladesh, Rahul Dravid has a fair amount of options to think about if he decides to make a change in the starting XI. With the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal waiting in the ranks to get an opening spot, Virat Kohli could be seen dropping a spot in the batting order and return to his usual number 3 role.
Shivam Dube, who hasn’t really taken his chances so far, can be subbed by Jaiswal as spinners are being favoured more on the Caribbean pitches in the tournament. Dube has only bowled once in the tournament so far and wasn’t able to pick any wicket in the same.
