Security will be increased at New York’s Eisenhower Park stadium ahead of the highly anticipated India versus Pakistan clash in the ICC T20 World Cup on June 9, following reports of threats. According reports, the governor’s office stated that they are monitoring the situation closely and have found no credible public safety threat at this time. Eisenhower Park Stadium, situated 25 miles east of Manhattan, is hosting eight ICC T20 World Cup matches from June 3 to 12, including the match between the two Asian rivals. Governor Kathy Hochul of New York mentioned that she is collaborating with law enforcement authorities to ensure that these games proceed without any issues.

Governor Kathy Hochul added, “Public safety is my top priority and we are committed to ensuring the Cricket World Cup is a safe, enjoyable experience.”
Sources have learned that authorities have found no corroborative evidence to support the reported threat. However, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has stated that security will be “robust” throughout the tournament at all venues.

An ICC spokesperson emphasized that the safety and security of everyone at the event is their number one priority. They stated that a comprehensive and robust security plan is in place. India’s schedule in the US includes four games: their campaign opener against Ireland on June 5, a match against Pakistan on June 9, a game against the USA on June 12, and their final group stage game against Canada in Florida on June 15.
