Hardik Pandya set to play under brother Krunal Pandya’s leadership in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The Pandya brothers will bolster the Baroda squd in the SMAT 2024 edition. Hardik last played in the SMAT back in the 2016 edition as his India duties did not allow him to feature for the domestic side. The competition will go underway from 23 November and baroda is placed in group B with Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Saurashtra, Karnataka and Sikkim. Baroda has made a strong start to the domestic season, topping Group A in the first phase of the Ranji Trophy with 27 points.

Though Hardik and Krunal have played many IPL matches for Mumbai Indians but they were the first pair of brothers to feature in an IPL game together for the same team. Hardik played for MI for seven seasons, and was part of the team’s title-winning campaigns in 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020. Krunal has been appeared for Mumbai Indians in the 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and hence featured in two IPL seasons for Mumbai Indians together.
It would be now interesting to watch how the this transition from being a multiple times, skipper for the indian side to play under the leadership of his brother.
