Baroda and Mumbai are playing against each other in the first semi-final of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Baroda achieved a first-innings score of 158/7 wherein the Krunal Pandya led side showcased a complete batting effort. Batters such as Shashwat Rawat, Krunal Pandya, Shivalik Sharma and Atit Sheth chipped in with cameo innings of 20 and 30 odd runs which ended up helping Baroda achieve a competitive first innings score. However, on a high-scoring Bengaluru surface Mumbai showcased a decent bowling effort wherein every bowler ended up picking up wickets.
Atharva Ankolekar Takes A Stunner Catch
Baroda batter Abhimanyu Singh was dismissed by a stupendous catch taken by Atharva Ankolekar. On the fifth ball of the third over bowled by Mumbai pacer Mohit Avasthi, Abhimanyu tried to heave the Mumbai bowler over the leg side. However, he mistimed the length ball and it went into the air. At one point it looked like the ball will end up falling in the no man’s land. However, Atharva Ankolekar made a full stretched dive and grabbed a stunning catch. The video for the same went viral on the social media.

Both Baroda and Mumbai have been playing brilliant cricket throughout the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Ajinkya Rahane has scored a lot of runs for Mumbai in the tournament so far and the onus will be once again on him to perform well and end up scoring runs to help his team make a place in the final of the tournament. On the other hand, Baroda consists of big names including Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya. Hardik has showcased a brilliant form with the bat but he hasn’t bowled much in the tournament. Both teams are equally capable of winning the match and making place in final of the competition.
