Mumbai Indians’ poor start to the season may be coming to an end now as one of their star batters has returned to the squad ahead of Mumbai’s 4th IPL 2024 match this year. Suryakumar Yadav has successfully recovered from his injury and rejoined the MI squad in preparation for their upcoming match against DC in the IPL 2024 season.

Suryakumar had been sidelined since the South Africa tour due to an ankle injury, which initially caused him to miss the early part of the 2024 season. Later, he disclosed that a sports hernia infection was the actual reason for his prolonged absence from the field.

During his recovery period, Suryakumar underwent rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy, where efforts were made to expedite his recovery process. On April 3, he received medical clearance to participate in the IPL 2024 season after a thorough evaluation by BCCI and NCA physios. MI had been building anticipation for Suryakumar’s return through their social media channels, and it was confirmed that he reunited with the squad on April 5.
In Suryakumar’s absence, MI struggled to secure victories in their initial three matches of the IPL 2024 season. Currently, the team is taking a break in Jamnagar before their upcoming fixture at the Wankhede Stadium on April 7.
