Why did Suresh Raina announce retirement?
The 35-year-old has announced retirement from international cricket back in 2022 along with Mahendra Singh Dhoni but he continued to feature in the IPL. However, he was not part of Chennai Super Kings in the last season of the league.
Can Raina play games overseas?
Many fans are speculating that Suresh Raina might play in the overseas league but there are many rules of BCCI which restricts any Indian cricketer to participate overseas.

The rules clearly states that any Indian player – who is involved in IPL, can not take up any mentor in other T20 leagues.
A BCCI official said in this regard, “The rule remains the same. Unless one has retired from all forms of the game and has no involvement in the IPL – as a coaching staff or playing staff- he cannot feature in other T20 leagues.”
