A painful incident occurred during the second Test between South Africa and Pakistan in Cape Town. Saim Ayub was injured during fielding. The incident happened during Pakistan’s bowling in the 7th over. When Ayub dove to stop the ball on Abbas’s delivery, his ankle twisted and he started writhing in severe pain. Saim Ayub was in so much pain that the physio came running onto the field. They tried to relieve Ayub’s pain but were unsuccessful. After this, Ayub tried to stand up, but it proved impossible for him, and finally, he had to be taken off the field in a wheelchair.

Taken to Hospital
After suffering the painful injury, Saim Ayub was taken to the hospital where his right foot will be examined. It appears that his ankle might be broken and could require surgery. If Ayub is ruled out of the match, it will be a big blow for Pakistan as this left-handed batsman has been in tremendous form. Ayub had played excellent cricket in the ODI and T20 series against South Africa.

Unsuccessful in Centurion
Pakistan’s opener Saim Ayub had failed in the Centurion Test. Although he got good starts in both innings, he could only score 14 in the first innings and 27 in the second innings. Pakistan could have won that match, but the partnership between Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen helped South Africa secure a 2-wicket victory.
