South Africa has announced the new Test captain:  South Africa cricket Board has handed over the Test captaincy to Temba Bavuma, he replaces Dean Elgar. Along with this Bavuma, JP Duminy has been appointed as the batting coach of the National Team.

Elgar was made the Test captain in mid-2021. He then won the first four Test series, including a home series against India, But SA lost Test series in England and Australia in his captaincy. Bavuma will continue as the ODI captain, but he won’t be captain for the T20. His performance in T-20 has not been effective so far.

Temba to team up with Shukri Konrad

In the Tests, Bavuma will team up with coach Shukri Konrad. Many times Bavuma credits him for helping in one day games. The SA cricket board has decided to bring many changes in the Test Team. JP Duminy will take over as the batting coach. He will replace Justin Simmons.
