The BCCI has officially dropped the full schedule for the TATA Women’s Premier League 2026 and it’s shaping up to be the most exciting edition yet. The tournament will run from January 9 to February 5, 2026, with matches split between Navi Mumbai and Vadodara, two venues that have steadily become key hubs for women’s cricket in India.
This will be the fourth season of the WPL, and once again, it’s set to bring together the best domestic talent and the biggest international stars. The league continues to show just how quickly women’s cricket in India is growing, not just in depth but in quality.
A Cracker of an Opening in Navi Mumbai
The season kicks off with a massive contest: defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Navi Mumbai. It’s the perfect way to get things started – two of the most followed teams, big names on both sides, and a crowd that always shows up loud.
From January 9 to 17, Navi Mumbai will host 11 matches, setting the early momentum for the season. With revamped squads after the mega auction in Delhi, all eyes will be on how well teams adapt and settle in the opening week.
Vadodara Takes Over for the Business End
After the first leg, the WPL caravan moves to Vadodara, where the league truly heats up. The city will host the remaining 11 fixtures, including the high-stakes Playoffs.
The Vadodara leg begins with Gujarat Giants (GG) vs RCB, followed by a 2025 final rematch – Delhi Capitals (DC) vs MI. If last season’s rivalry is anything to go by, this one will be unmissable.
The league matches continue until February 1, before taking a one-day breather.
Playoffs: High Stakes, Higher Pressure
The Eliminator is scheduled for February 3, featuring the teams finishing second and third on the points table. Win, and you’re one step closer to glory. Lose, and the season ends right there.
Meanwhile, the table-topper from the league stage gets a straight ticket to the Final, which will be played on February 5 in Vadodara, a night where the next WPL champion will be crowned.
Young Talent, New Squads and Big Expectations
The recently concluded mega auction has reshaped squads dramatically. Some teams have taken bold calls, investing heavily in teenagers and breakout performers, while others have leaned on experience and overseas stability.
What’s certain is that WPL 2026 promises fast-paced, high-intensity cricket, and fans can expect several new faces to rise to the occasion just as previous editions have delivered.
With both the talent pool and competition level rising every year, the upcoming season is all set to take women’s cricket to another level.
