Smriti Mandhana-Palash Muchhal Wedding: Social media went into overdrive on Tuesday after multiple reports suddenly claimed that Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal were all set to tie the knot on December 7. The buzz came barely weeks after their original November 23 wedding was postponed but once again, the rumours turned out to be nothing more than speculation.
Smriti Mandhana’s brother clarifies
Smriti’s brother, Shravan Mandhana, stepped in quickly to calm things down. He confirmed that no new wedding date has been fixed and that the chatter online is completely baseless. “I have no idea about these rumours. As of now, it (the wedding) is still postponed,” he said, shutting down the latest wave of confusion.
Wedding haulted in dramatic fashion
The wedding, which was supposed to take place in Sangli, was halted in dramatic fashion on the morning of the ceremony when Smriti’s father suffered a serious medical emergency and had to be rushed to the hospital. Hours later, Palash himself was hospitalised due to extreme stress and emotional shock triggered by the situation. His mother later revealed he had been put on IV support and underwent several tests before stabilising.

While both families were dealing with back-to-back health scares, the internet took a different route. Speculation exploded, with cheating allegations suddenly appearing online after supposed screenshots of private conversations began circulating. Fans also noticed that Smriti deleted her engagement posts and removed tags related to Palaash, a move many took as a sign that something bigger was brewing behind the scenes.
Choreographers’ name involved
The rumour mill got even messier when two choreographers involved in prepping the wedding dances Nandika Dwivedi and Gulnaaz Khan were dragged into the chaos. Both strongly denied the allegations, calling the talk completely made up and asking people to stop dragging innocent names into personal matters.
Throughout all of this, both families have maintained that the postponement happened solely because of the health emergency. Palaash’s mother even shared that her son suggested delaying the wedding himself, out of concern for Smriti’s father, even before the Mandhana family officially made the decision.
