WWE SmackDown on December 12, 2025, was a vibrant and action-filled episode, as the blue brand boosted the thrill of Saturday Night’s Main Event and John Cena’s last bout. The mighty duo of Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest, The Terror Twins, were the eminent ones of the night, as they once again joined forces and overthrew the combination of Aleister Black and Zelina Vega in a mixed tag team match. Ripley's return was the turning point, and she ended the match with her Riptide finisher on Vega to win the match, after a series of disputes between Black and Priest for months.

Ilja Dragunov, in a tough matchup, managed to keep the WWE United States title and defeated Tommaso Ciampa. He demonstrated his strength and endurance even if he received a lot of punches during the fight. Lash Legend didn't just win against Alexa Bliss but made a point by using her power to end the match with a solid Lash Extension. Je’Von Evans also managed to surpass The Miz, thus enhancing his momentum into the weekend even more.
Face-Off between two champions raises stakes
Additionally, SmackDown showcased a fiery confrontation between the two wrestlers Cody Rhodes and NXT Champion Oba Femi, where the latter, in a John Cena-inspired manner, reiterated the words “the future is now” and questioned the mentality of Rhodes. The scenario in which both title holders flaunted their belts built up the excitement for the weekend's exhibition match.
