India played against Pakistan for the second time in Asia Cup 2025 and registered a dominant win by six wickets in Super Four stage of Asia Cup 2025. Batting first Pakistan had set a target of 172 runs and the Indian batters chased it smoothly with Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill being the key performers.
The 25-year old Abhishek Sharma smashed 74 runs off 39 balls and he set the tone for an easy chase. In just 18.5 overs, India wrapped up the chase and completely crushing Pakistan. In the match, Haris Rauf also tried to provoke Abhishek which was followed by a heated confrontation but despite all this Sharma kept his cool and let his bat do all the talking. He taught a brutal lesson to all the Pakistani bowlers and left them absolutely clueless.
After the match, Abhishek Sharma’s sister – Komal Sharma and his mother could not contain their excitement and were extremely impressed with the way Abhishek performed against Pakistan and bagged the Player of the Match award.
“I always wanted to watch an India vs Pakistan match, and today we came – and he did so well. He’s the Man of the Match, what more can we say? You can see on our faces, we’re super excited and happy. We’re very proud of him. I truly believe the sky is the limit for him, and he’s going to prove to everyone the kind of player and talent he has. The century will come very soon, and he has already made us proud. We’re just waiting for that hundred in this tournament, that’s all,” she told PTI.
“It was just so fun watching him play like that today. It was even more fun to watch him hit the six on the very first ball against we all know who. He has made it a habit. I just hope you all keep supporting him, and he keeps doing what he does best,” she said outside the Dubai International Stadium.
