Team India's young opener, Shubman Gill, who had an outstanding performance in the Champions Trophy 2025, has been honored with a special recognition from the ICC. The ICC has awarded him the ICC Men's Player of the Month for February 2025. Gill won the prestigious award, defeating Australian legend Steve Smith and New Zealand all-rounder Glenn Phillips.
In February, Shubman Gill scored 406 runs in five ODIs at a strike rate of 94.19 and an average of 101.50. During the 3-match home ODI series against England, Gill scored over fifty in all three innings. He played a knock of 87 runs in the Nagpur match, followed by 60 runs in Cuttack, and a magnificent 112 runs in the final ODI in Ahmedabad.

Gill’s Remarkable Performances
Gill was named Player of the Match for his brilliant innings and was also awarded the Player of the Series honor. Continuing his stellar form in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Gill scored an unbeaten 101 in India’s first match against Bangladesh in Dubai, leading India to victory. He also contributed with 46 runs against Pakistan, helping India win both their opening games in the Champions Trophy.
This marks Gill’s third ICC Men's Player of the Month award. He previously won this accolade twice in 2023, in January and September. Gill was also part of the Indian team that triumphed in the Champions Trophy last week.
