Riyan Parag Called For India Call-Up

Notable inclusions are Riyan Parag and Abhishek Sharma, two standout players from the IPL 2024 season. Additionally, Abhishek Sharma’s SRH teammate, Nitish Kumar Reddy, has been named in the squad as a specialist fast-bowling all-rounder.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson are the only players from the Indian T20 World Cup team included in this squad, while the rest have been rested. Rinku Singh and Khaleel Ahmed, currently with the Indian team in the Caribbean as reserves, have also been named in the squad.

India has chosen to include only one specialist spinner, former ICC No. 1 T20I bowler Ravi Bishnoi. The squad features several all-rounders, including Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Reddy, Washington Sundar, and Riyan Parag, capable of contributing with both bat and ball. This change addresses previous criticism from experts and the media about the lack of bowling options among India’s top five batters.
