South Africa and Pakistan are playing against each other in the second Test of the two-match series at the Sahara Park Newlands ground. The South African team displayed a tremendous batting performance in the first innings and put up a huge total of 615 runs. Ryan Rickelton scored a double and played an innings of 259 runs from 343 balls. On the other hand, Temba Bavuma and Kyle Verreynne played knocks of 106 and 100 runs respectively. In reply, the Pakistani got wrapped up for 194 runs in its first innings as South African bowlers displayed a convincing bowling performance.
Shan Masood Registers Elite Milestone During SA vs PAK 2nd Test
Pakistan were asked to follow on and at one stage it looked like they would suffer an inning defeat. However, Shan Masood and Babar Azam (81) had different plans as the opening duo put up a stand of 205 for the first wicket out of which Masood went onto smash a brilliant hundred. Shan got out for a score of 145 runs from 251 balls which included 17 fours. Shan Masood also registered the record of highest individual Test score by a Pakistani batter in South Africa. The Pakistani captain left behind Azhar Mahmood’s score of 136 runs which he achieved in 1998.

Despite achieving such a wonderful milestone, Shan Masood missed out on achieving legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar’s feat. Tendulkar holds the record of highest individual score by an Asian captain in South Africa which is 169.
