A day after Mumbai Indians announces Hardik Pandya – the new captain, to lead the team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 14 removing Rohit Sharma after 10 years, the fans got angry over the decision and started criticizing the franchise on X (formerly Twitter).

However, on December 15, Mumbai Indians have appointed Hardik Pandya as their captain for the upcoming IPL 2024 season, taking over from Rohit Sharma, who led the team for the past ten years. Hardik, returning to Mumbai Indians after a stint with Gujarat Titans, previously steered his former team to an IPL title in 2022, making this announcement a pivotal shift in team leadership.

Hardik Pandya was previously associated with MI from 2015 to 2021, playing 92 matches for the team. He was released before the 2022 mega auction and subsequently joined the Gujarat Titans, later traded back to Mumbai Indians in November this year.
