‘Shaheen was made captain..’, Shahid Afridi’s Surprising Remark On Pakistan Pacer

Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has made a surprising remark on Shaheen Afridi regarding his T20 captaincy

Pakistan cricket team is currently in Australia for a Test series consisting of three matches. Following the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, significant changes have been witnessed within the team and the board. With Babar Azam stepping down, Shan Masood now captains the Test team, and Shahid Afridi leads the T20 team.

However, Shahid Afridi, the former captain, expressed jestingly that he had intended for Mohammad Rizwan to lead the T20 team and that Shaheen became the captain ‘by mistake’. Pakistan cricketers Mohd Rizwan, Shaheen Afridi, and Haris Rauf were also present when Shahid made the remark and was seen laughing on the same.

His light-hearted comments sparked viral attention on social media. With Shahid’s comments being taken hilariously, not much was made later on from his take.

Shahid was full of praise for the trio and went on to talk about each one of them in the event.

Men In Green to take on the Kiwis

After playing the Test series with Australia, Pakistan’s team will tour New Zealand. A 5-match T20 series will be played between New Zealand and Pakistan. Shahin Shah Afridi will lead the Pakistani team in this series. The first match of the series will be played on January 12.

Disappointing Result Under New Leadership

After the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, the Pakistan team arrived in Australia with a new captain to play their first Test series. Under Shan Masood’s leadership, Pakistan has already lost the first Test series. Australia has secured an unbeatable lead of 2-0 in the series by winning the first two Test matches. Now, the series’ third and final match will be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground starting from January 3rd.
