Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood’s omission from team’s squad for IND vs AUS 2nd Test due to side-strain injury was a major jolt. Hazlewood emerged as the best pacer for the Australian team during the IND vs AUS 1st Test and picked up five wickets, however, unfortunately, the latter has been excluded from the second Test squad. While, Hazlewood has been ruled out of the match, Scott Boland is very much likely to replace him. Boland, is part of Australia’s main squad also participated in the pink-ball match for Prime Minister’s XI against India. Boland showcased brilliant example of line and length.

Scott Boland recalled his performance against Team India during the World Test Championship final 2023. Speaking to cricket.com.au, Boland stated that he started off slow during the first innings but once he got momentum during the second innings, it was one of his most complete performance. He said, “Over a whole game, I’d say yes (it was). I reckon I started maybe a little bit slow in the first innings, but once I got into the game, especially in the second innings … I think that’s my most complete performance.”

Scott Boland registered figures of 5/105 during the match and played an important role in helping the Australian team register a 209-run victory and lift the World Test Championship mace. Boland is once again expected to bring troubles for the Indian team when he will bowl with the pink ball at the Adelaide Oval. The Australian team will be under pressure as they look forward to level the series in Adelaide. The Australian team has a decent record in the day-night Test in Adelaide and will look forward to perform well.
