Naushad, the father of Indian cricketer Sarfaraz Khan, issued a cautionary statement to cricket enthusiasts regarding the proliferation of fake social media accounts impersonating him. These accounts were deceiving aspiring cricketers by soliciting money under false pretenses such as IPL net bowler selections, cricket academies, and state team placements.
Naushad emphasized the importance of relying on talent and hard work rather than falling prey to such scams. The father-son duo garnered widespread attention on social media, shedding light on the sacrifices their family had made. Sarfaraz’s younger brother, Musheer, has also been making waves in domestic cricket while representing the Mumbai state team.
“On my name, a lot of people have made fake accounts on Facebook and Instagram. On the pretext of getting entry into the IPL as net bowlers, or for state, academy selection, those accounts are asking kids for money.
“I request you to not believe them and trust your own hard work. I am not associated with any IPL team, and neither am I coaching anywhere. Please don’t believe them. Thank you so much!,” he concluded.
Since his debut in the third Test against England in Rajkot, Sarfaraz has established himself as a dependable player for the national team. Despite a less-than-stellar performance in the fourth Test in Ranchi, Sarfaraz is likely to retain his place in the team for the upcoming fifth Test in Dharamsala. The journey of the Khan family, including the successes of both Sarfaraz and Musheer, has captured the attention of cricket fans, showcasing their dedication and perseverance in the sport.
