DC wrapped up their IPL 2025 season by winning their match against Punjab Kings (PBKS) by six wickets at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur on May 24. Shreyas Iyer’s fifty helped PBKS end with a score of 206/8. Meanwhile, Sameer Rizvi scored 58 runs in just 25 balls to guide DC to the win with a final six.
After this result, PBKS’ chances of making the top two took a blow, leaving them at 17 points from 13 matches ahead of their last game. Worth mentioning is that Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Mumbai Indians have all collected 18, 17, and 16 points so far and could go to the top two if they win their remaining games. PBKS will play against Mumbai Indians (MI) on May 26.

Sameer Rizvi scored fifty as DC overcame PBKS.
KL Rahul and Faf du Plessis started the innings with a 50-run partnership in just five overs, with Rahul making 35 off 21 shots. Though Jansen bowled Rahul out at the end of the powerplay, Karun hit the bowler straight away to take the score above 60 even before the fielding restrictions were removed.
Then, Punjab was able to take the initiative when Du Plessis was out in the next over, leading to fewer runs per over. Sediqullah Atal got things going for IPL with a first six off Jansen, but Punjab’s bowlers made sure the scoring was kept in check. Atal was sent back to the pavilion in the first over of the 11th by Pravin Dubey. After being outside the squad for 3000 days, Karun hit four straight boundaries to gain back control of the match. Sameer Rizvi helped out a lot at the other end of the conversation
