19-year-old Sam Konstas ended up scoring 60 runs from 65 balls on debut during the IND vs AUS 4th Test being played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Konstas played some aggressive shots throughout his innings and took on the Indian bowler. The latter smashed Jasprit Bumrah for a six and the incident came into the Indian pacer’s Test career after more than 1000 balls. He helped the Aussies get off to an aggressive start and put the pressure off his partner Usman Khawaja who also managed to score a half-century. Australia ended their first innings at a sore of 474 runs in which Steve Smith ended up playing an innings of 140 runs.

Sam Konstas was on his debut but he didn’t reflect the feeling on the field. Konstas tried to keep the crowd engaged while fielding on the boundary line. The 19-year-old performed some gestures which were mimicked by the crowd as well. Later, he ended up urging the crowd to increase the volume of cheers and the same was acknowledged by the fans in the stands as well. The video for the same went viral on social media.

Sam Konstas garnered headlines when he ended up scoring a hundred while playing for Prime Minister’s XI during the pink ball practice Test against India. The latter came in place of Nathan McSweeney ahead of the fourth Test and was directly handed over the debut cap. The Australian team has been testing out new players in the opening position ever since David Warner has retired from Test cricket.
