New Delhi: Today is the 52nd birthday of late Australian cricketer Shane Warne and he is missed by the entire cricket world. ‘God’ of cricket, Sachin Tendulkar, could not stop himself from writing emotional words in his honour and said that he misses him.

While posting a tweet on Shane Warne’s birthday, Sachin Tendulkar wrote, “Thinking of you on your birthday Warnie! Gone too soon. Had so many memorable moments with you. Will cherish them forever mate.”

Shane Warne Beach said goodbye to this world on 4 March. He died in Thailand due to heart attack. The sudden demise of Warne at the age of 52 left cricket fans stunned. The cremation of Warne was cremated on March 20. Many veteran cricketers were present during this.

Yuvraj Singh remembers Shane Warne

Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh also wrote a post for the cricket legend. “Fondly remembering this great legend on his birth anniversary! A man who defined class and accuracy on the pitch through his zest for perfection! May you shine the brightest wherever you are mate. #HappyBirthdayShaneWarne.”

Yusuf Pathan wrote, “Remembering the legendary @ShaneWarne on his 53rd birthday anniversary. One of the most inspirational captains I played under. Forever in our hearts.”

Shane Warne played cricket for 15 years. He played a total of 145 Tests in his career, taking 708 wickets. He had record of second highest Test wicket-taker in the world under his name. Shane Warne had also played in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He had led Rajasthan Royals to the IPL title in the very first season under his captaincy.

More than a thousand wickets in International cricket

Shane Warne is the second bowler in the world to take 1000 or more wickets in international cricket. He has played a total of 339 international matches. Took 1001 wickets during this period. Warne has taken a total of 293 wickets in 194 ODIs. While Sri Lankan spinner Muttiah Muralitharan is at the top in terms of most international wickets, he has taken 1347 wickets in 495 matches.
