When master blaster Sachin Tendulkar was asked whether he would pull-off a mankad in cricket, he didn’t hesitate to say ‘YES.’

Giving a firm statement, Tendulkar said that the dismissal on non-smoker’s end is a legitimate ICC rule, so playing by rules shouldn’t become a matter of ‘spirit of game.’

While in conversation with Sportstar, Tendulkar said, “Spirit of cricket… whatever you are playing within the rules of the game, that is spirit of cricket.”

It is a rule – Sachin Tendulkar

When Deepti Sharma dismissed Dean by this way, she was criticised by fans and said that she doesn’t have ‘spirit of game.’ Along with she was also compared with other incidents in male cricket where ‘legendary’ players refrained from doing this.

However, Sachin Tendulkar has something different to say. He said, “It’s a rule now. If a player is short of the crease or doesn’t make the crease, then the batter is given out, right? Just like he misses a ball that’s heading toward stumps and in line of the stumps, he is given out lbw. So the ICC has introduced the rule that if you are out of the crease (before the ball is bowled), then you are run out.”

Tendulkar also talked about Deepti Sharma and backed her actions. He said, “She was playing to what the laws of the game are.”She was playing to what the laws of the game are.”
