New Zealand won the 2nd ODI of the tri-series against South Africa at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore by 6 wickets. New Zealand successfully chased down the 304 runs. This was the second time, New Zealand breached the 300 run mark. Earlier against Pakistan New Zealand scored 330 runs batting first. Kane Williamson has been awarded as Man of the Match by scoring 133 runs in 113 balls with a strike rate of 117.70.

Batters’ Paradise
The scorecard will tell that New Zealand finished the innings in the 49th over but it was never seen that the Kiwis were never in control. They got a decent start from their openers Will Young and Devon Conway as they built a partnership of 50 runs. But what took the innings further was Kane Williamson and Devon Conway’s partnership of 187 runs until Conway was dismissed by Junior Dala on 97 runs and missed a potential ODI century. The Proteas’ young batter Matthew Breetzke broke Barbarian Desmond Haynes’ long standing record of the highest runs at ODI debut by scoring 150 runs.
Bowlers Struggle
Matt Henry and William ORourke took 2 wickets each while spinner Michael Bracewell clinched 1 wicket in his name. The Kiwi captain Mitchell Santner failed to create an impact the ball as he was unable to pick any wickets. The bowling from the South Africans also did not created an impact other than Senuran Muthusamy by taking 2 wickets. Eathan Bosch and Junior Dala took 1-1 wicket each.
