As India looked to level the 3-match T20I series in Johannesburg, Indian top order batting failed to take matter into their own hands as Keshav Maharaj took 2 wickets on 2 balls to dismiss both Shubman Gill (23) and Tilak Varma (0) in his over.
Electing to bowl first, the Protea bowlers took some hitting in the first 2 overs, conceding 29 runs at the start. However, it was Keshav Maharaj who got South Africa their breakthrough and managed to showcase the recent poor form of the top order batters in the series.

India have fielded the same eleven with Ruturaj Gaikwad again being the notable absence in the lineup. Ravi Bishnoi and Shreyas Iyer were also made to sit out the tie.
While the bowling seemed a problem in the previous match, attention needs to be shifted in the batting front as well.
India are currently trailing the 3-match T20I series 1-0 after the first match was abandoned due to rain. South Africa won the 2nd T20I by 5 wickets which was also interrupted by rain.
Rinku Singh’s explosive maiden fifty on the night went in vain as Reeza Hendricks and skipper Aiden Markram won the match for the home team with their aggressive approach in just 13.5 overs in the end.
