As Team India were handed a 5-wicket defeat by the hands of South Africa at St. George’s Oval, the Men in Blue would look to level the 3-match series in Johannesburg with the 1st T20I being abandoned by rain earlier on in the series.
Although the Indian batters except openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill looked to force the issue and put up a good total on the board, quick wickets saw them stuck at 142/5 at 15.2 overs. It was Rinku Singh’s unbeaten 68 which took the team to 180 with three balls to spare before rain interrupted the play.
However, the bowling attack without number one T20I bowler Ravi Bishnoi took a beating as South Africa’s Reeza Hendricks and Aiden Markram chased down the reduced total within 13.5 overs with ease.
With the top order not proving to be lethal recently, Team India would have to score from the start in order to put up a fighting total on the board.
South Africa on the other hand will be looking to seal the T20I series with another one on December 14.
