Rohit Sharma Updates Profile Picture With Tri-colour Flag
An emotional Rohit Sharma was overwhelmed after India’s ICC event win, breaking an 11-year drought. He chose this significant photo for his social media profile picture, updating it 8 days after India’s historic T20 World Cup 2024 victory.
“Where we got the win, I wanted to remember that moment. We played on that pitch and won the match there. We all had waited for that moment. Many times it came so close, but we couldn’t go ahead. This time, because of everyone, we achieved it and that pitch was special to me. So, in that moment, it happened,” Rohit said on why he had a piece of the Barbados pitch.
“It was such a big moment for all of us, everybody waited for it a long time. So everyone told me to not go to the stage in simple fashion,” Rohit said
BCCI secretary Jay Shah and team vice-captain Hardik Pandya joined Rohit in posing with the Tricolour flag waving proudly in Barbados. To honor the victory, Rohit also took a bite of the Barbados pitch, symbolizing the significance of the win for him and the Indian team. Additionally, he recreated the Ric Flair strut while collecting the T20 World Cup trophy as the winning captain.
