A video featuring a conversation between India captain and Mumbai Indians (MI) player Rohit Sharma and Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) batting coach Abhishek Nayar has garnered attention on social media. Originally posted by KKR but later deleted, the clip captured Sharma discussing his tenure at MI and his plans with Nayar, a former Mumbai player himself.

Wo unke upar hai.

Woh temple Jo hai na, maine banaya hai.---Advertisement---Bhai mera kya mera to ye last hai..! ”

In the video, Sharma mentions that he has made MI his home, indicating his strong bond with the franchise built over the past decade. He also addresses the topic of stepping down from the captaincy, noting that it was not solely his decision, but he appears unperturbed by it. Towards the end of the conversation, Sharma briefly mentions “one final year,” although the unclear audio leaves fans speculating about his exact words.
Lack of Leadership Role
One of the reasons that might trigger the idea of Rohit Sharma leaving the 5-time champions can be him being stripped of the captaincy role despite of holding the Team India captaincy currently. Playing under his teammate Hardik Pandya certainly hasn’t been that eventful for Rohit and the hitman might leave because of the same.
Mega Auction in 2025
With the IPL mega auction taking place next year, Rohit Sharma will not be short of offers from every franchise who will try to rope in the 5-time winner of the tournament. Rohit will not only offer an explosive batting option but will also provide loads of experience for the team.
Chemistry with Captain
If Rohit Sharma is not being made the captain of his future team, he would at least be looking for a good understanding with the captain which hasn’t been the case with Hardik Pandya. Pictures and videos in between the matches have shown that the chemistry between the two hasn’t really been the best this season.
Need For A Captain
With no less than 6 IPL teams who will need an experienced captain like Rohit Sharma in their franchise, Rohit Sharma will be offered a lot of choices to change the color of his shirt while playing in the cash-rich league from next year.
