As Mumbai Indians hosted their first home game in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) on April 1st, Rohit Sharma fans flocked to the stadium and wanted to show their displeasure at the management’s decision to replace the hitman as captain with Hardik Pandya ahead of the season.

However, the fans were not allowed to express themselves as all Rohit Sharma posters were banned inside the stadium and fans who brought them had to eventually leave it outside the stadium. The video that is doing the rounds on the internet showed many posters which had Rohit’s name on them being left out of the stadium by fans because of the security personnel.
Hardik Booed At Toss
Rohit Sharma fans showed their disappointment at the time of the toss. When their new captain Hardik Pandya was being questioned after losing the toss, fans started t=booing the Indian all-rounder which didn’t feel like the usual home crowd supporting their skipper at all.
While many fans approve of the behaviour, many have stood against it and feel no Indian player should be booed in his own country whatever the reason might be.

It wasn’t a good homecoming for Rohit Sharma as the former MI skipper got himself dismissed on a golden duck courtesy of a brilliant delivery by Rajasthan Royals’ Trent Boult in the very first over.
Trent’s swinging delivery caught Rohit off guard and saw the ball kicking the bat and going straight into skipper Sanju Samson’s gloves who leaped towards the ball to claim a spectacular catch.
The in-form MI batter was in sublime form for the first two games and would’ve hoped to entertain the home fans today as well.
