During his speech, Rohit kept the tone light by joking about Suryakumar Yadav’s famous catch from the T20 World Cup final against South Africa.

“After Surya caught the ball, he told me that the ball sat in his hand. Thank goodness, it sat in his hand. Otherwise, I would have sat him out,” Rohit Sharma said, leaving the assembly in splits. Rohit was unable to control his laughter after crackng the joke that has gone viral on social media.

Four members of the T20 World Cup-winning team—Rohit Sharma, Shivam Dube, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Suryakumar Yadav—were honored at the Maharashtra Vidhan Bhavan in Mumbai on Friday.
