7000 times in IPL
Because of these runs, Rohit Sharma also became the first IPL batsman to score over 7000 runs. Only the second player has managed this achievement. To date, the top spot for most runs in a single edition was held by Virat Kohli, who has scored 8618 runs during the tournament. It was Rohit’s 266th innings in the IPL when he achieved this record. Earlier, he had 6976 runs, but this match saw him reach more for the first time.
First Indian batter to reach 300 sixes
Rohit Sharma reached another landmark, hitting two massive sixes in this match. He is now the first Indian and the second person in the world to hit over 300 sixes in the IPL. The record for most sixes in One Day International cricket had only belonged to Chris Gayle, with 357 from 142 matches.
