“Three terms came up, you ‘Opted Out, Rested, Or Dropped’ , what is correct ?”.

“All 3 are wrong, The word is “I Stood Down”. There are 50 words to make, the chat was simple, my bat has no runs, form is not right, we can’t carry a lot out of form players, so I told the coach and selectors and they backed the decision, it was difficult for me, but sensible for the team, the team needed it.” he replied.
“I stood down from the 5th Test. I took this decision at SCG. Sensible hon.. 2 bachon ka baap hon mujhe pata hai kya Karna hai. Koi kuch bhi boley meri cricket pe farq nahi padta. Yeh decision koi retirement ka nahi hai, bat nahi chal rha tha toh bahar hua”

“Runs are not coming now, but not guaranteed it’ll not come 5 months later. I’ll work hard. People from the outside who are sitting with laptop, pen & paper don’t decide when I retire or not. What decision I need to take. So they don’t decide about retirement. Ye jo yahan pe crowd hai , inka muh band karana hai yaar” he added.
